SIRT Fundamentals of Pistol (SFP)

What You Get from This Course

The SIRT Fundamentals of Pistol (SFP) Course equips you with the skills, confidence, and structure to deliver six engaging, two-hour training sessions in nearly any setting, off the range with SIRT Pistols.

This course is designed for a wide range of students—from brand-new shooters to experienced practitioners.

  • New shooters start fresh, building strong fundamentals from the ground up.
  • Experienced shooters refine and reinforce core mechanics, ensuring proper technique.

Key Training Components:

Grip Formation and Grip Establishment – Build solid grip for consistent index shooting and returning the muzzle down after each shot.

Sighted & Index Fire – Train both precision shots at distance and rapid engagement.

Trigger Control – Drills to break the shot without disturbing the muzzle

Advanced Drills Beyond the Range – Experience compromised shooting positions, moving no-shoot scenarios, and real-world applications that live fire alone cannot provide.

Throughout this course, you’ll see real demonstrations by Mike Hughes, the inventor of the SIRT pistol, teaching two different student groups. You’ll also receive a printed course manual, complete with QR codes linking directly to videos, seamlessly integrating written material with hands-on learning.

For those looking to take their instruction and shooting skills further, an immersive three-day course with a Training Counselor is available.

This course is not just a class—it’s a system for developing competent, confident shooters in a structured and engaging way.
